Electrical Operations Manager – PSH Operations

Following our recent merger and the rapid ongoing growth of the company we have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Operations Manager to join our team.

You will lead and manage a widespread and large team of electrical technicians to provide preventative and corrective site maintenance across the O&M portfolio.

You will have a strong knowledge of DC, LV & HV systems and circuit protection and will be able to diagnose any issues remotely. All electrical work must be carried out in accordance with industry standards and good Health and Safety practices.



Assessing Technician capabilities and provide training to ensure that work is carried out safely and to high-standards

Oversee quality assurance programme and implement quality control procedures throughout the electrical team.

Act as Control Engineer for HV activities.

Support the Commercial team on customer calls.

Prioritise team workload and create efficient and safe work schedules for the team

Work as part of the management team to organise a weekly rota for technicians to carry out preventative maintenance across the O&M portfolio.

Work closely with the Data Analysts throughout the day to schedule and arrange corrective maintenance work required.

Use as built drawings and SLDs to diagnose faults remotely before distributing work to Technicians.

Establish what equipment is needed when corrective maintenance is required and organize the availability of the equipment.

Respond to urgent corrective maintenance requests immediately and deploy the best Technician to the site to assess and/or fix the problem.

If no Technicians are available, you may be required to attend site and carry out the necessary work.

Build relationships with equipment manufacturers and suppliers; manage and improve these relationships.

Organise tenders for subcontractor work when required and analyse proposals for technical and commercial benefits.

Support the MD with other requests and attend weekly meetings.

Maintain a detailed understanding of every site in the O&M portfolio and carry out regular site visits.

Quality assurance.

Creation of site work reports for both corrective and preventative works carried out. Site work reports will often be written by Technicians, these must be reviewed and approved.

Implementation and execution of any new actions allocated to the Electrical Team from meetings, site visits, client requests.

Appropriate and good quality record keeping and filing.

Provide training (office based and on site) to Technicians and other members of staff (as required)

Organise and attend external training courses when necessary.

Ensure that all Technicians have sufficient equipment and any parts required to be able to carry out all maintenance works.

Liaise with the Health and Safety Manager to ensure best practices are implemented and followed.

Attend management meetings, produce reports and team KPIs on a regular basis.

Approve team expenses and manage electrical team budget.


Key Skills:

Must hold 17th Edition Electrical Regulations qualification

Senior Authorised Person or Approved Authorised Person preferred but not essential. (training can be provided)

Must have been in a similar role for a minimum for 2 years with management responsibilities

Worked on large scale solar projects

Have a comprehensive knowledge of the BS 7671 Wiring Regulation Standards

Must have a comprehensive knowledge of DC Electrical systems

You must be able to understand site drawings and SLDs.

Must be able to work under pressure and deal with emergency situations

Must have strong IT skills

Must be hardworking, reliable and flexible

Must be able to lead a team

Must be able to work well as part of a team

Must have strong communication skills

Possess good attention to detail.
